The Science Of Getting Rich, I Have My Vision Now What?

By Belinda H. Begay

Wattles -- as in Wallace D Wattles -- is author of "The Science of Getting Rich", which is one of the landmark books of the past 100 years. In his book, published in 1910, Wattles teaches getting rich principles which have become the staple of the modern self improvement industry. Napoleon Hill, Earl Nightingale, and Bob Proctor, just to name a few have all written about the "universal secret" and, of course, Rhonda Byrne's film The Secret was inspired by the Wattles science of getting rich principles. To help you better understand the essence of what Wattles says in his book about creating life abundance, here is an essential overview of the ten key science of getting rich principles he describes:

I believe this practical approach explains why The Science of Getting Rich is even more popular today than it was a 100 years ago.Wallace Wattles writes that getting rich is an "exact science". There are certain laws, that when learned, will lead you to riches with "mathematical certainty".These laws hinge on one fundamental principle - the power of thought. Wattles explains that anything we desire, be it a house or a large bank account, can come into existence simply by "impressing (our) thought upon formless substance."However simple this may sound, he says that in order to do this, we must abandon any competitive nature we may have and use our creative mind. Formless Intelligence, as Wattles calls it, is never competitive in spirit. In The Science of Getting Rich, Wattles emphasizes that we must get rid of the notion that there is some Deity in the sky who wants us to be poor. He believes that choosing a life of poverty for altruistic reasons is no better than those who lead extremely selfish lives.

Mastering your thoughts is the prerequisite to attracting riches into your life. You must learn to place your attention on what you intend to manifest rather than on what is. This is extremely difficult for most people. Thought mastery comes from your ability to harness your creative mind as opposed to your competitive mind. This is the essential "training" you must undertake because the default position of your mind is the competitive mind, which is in direct conflict to point number 3.Leaving the impression of increase in everything you do and with everyone you touch is one way you align with your creative mind. This is because you get back what you give, not what you want. When you focus on leaving the impression of increase, your focus is on serving others rather than yourself. By expressing gratitude, you further align your mind and your thinking with the creative energy of the universe. Gratitude is a powerful emotion that aligns closely with "love", which is the essence of the Universe. The secret to manifesting what you want is to use the technique of "creative visualization", or thinking in the "certain way". To manifest something new, simply hold a clear image of what want in your mind, with the feeling of appreciation and gratitude to the universe, and carry that image with you in everything you do.

If you have read part 2 of this article called "The Science of Getting Rich - How Anyone Can Become Rich - Part 2" then you will already have discovered that being creation oriented rather than competitive and; thinking and acting in a Certain Way will result in you becoming rich. Here in Part 3 we further explore practices in the science of getting rich.

In business, the key-thought in all your efforts must be to convey THE IMPRESSION OF INCREASE in other people's minds. Continuous advancement and increase in life is what all men and women are seeking. People are attracted to those who can give them more of the means of life and this attraction will result in you becoming rich. Therefore, no matter how small the transaction, even the selling of a stick of candy, put into it the thought of increase into the mind of the customer. Hold the unshakable faith in yourself, that you are in the way of increase and let it permeate every action. Don't boast of your success or seek power over other men. Beware the competitive mind! What you want for you, you must want for everybody.

The Science of Getting Rich is a book written over 100 years ago by a man named Wallace Wattles. In it Wattles lays out the concepts of what we know today as the law of attraction. It is a way of acting, living, and thinking that is guaranteed to create wealth in your life. In spite of the clearly defined principles in the book many have a difficult time putting it all to use.The law of attraction is a simple concept but it requires a mindset that many find difficult to establish and maintain. What if you had a way to make the practice instinctive, to make it a part of yourself so that you automatically live it by embedding it in such a way that you don't have to think about it? When you awaken in the morning you go forth with a positive state of mind, a positive expectation, and thankfulness as called for by the law of attraction.

Some cautions and concluding observations - There is no limited supply of wealth. Governments keep the masses in poverty only because the masses allow this to happen by not thinking and acting in a Certain Way. If the masses were to move forward as suggested in this book; all systems would have to modify to accommodate this forward movement. The more men get rich on the competitive plane, the worse for others. Also, don't spend any time worrying about how you will meet possible emergencies. Concern your mind with doing today's work in a perfectly successful manner. No possible combination of circumstance can defeat a man or woman who is proceeding to get rich in the Certain Way.

A friend of mine suggested I read The Science Of Getting Rich by New Thought writer Wallace Wattles. She explained that this book had inspired Rhonda Byrne and the makers of the film The Secret and it's accompanying book, coincidentally also called The Secret! She's a smart girl and if she said it's so, it's good enough for me... and Rhonda Byrne has since confirmed this to Oprah.I knew of Wallace Wattles but had never read The Science Of Getting Rich. I regret that now. Ironically, I already had this book in my possession. It had been lying in my vast digital library collecting cyber dust.My mom always said to me 'Think happy, else your worst fears will always happen'. She was telling me exactly what the motivational leaders and personal development cadre write about today. That whatever you think about most will happen, that your dominant thinking creates your physical reality.Wattles wrote about this phenomena in 1910! Today in the 2010's a thousand business gurus, new-ageists, Jedi Masters and self-improvement ninjas throw this line at you all day long. Wattles exposed this 'secret' over a hundred years ago!Wattles writes directly AT you and pulls no punches. He doesn't hide behind phrases or rhymes or sound bites. He says it like it is, his words are crystal and he spells it out repeatedly so you get the message.

While you are getting firmly established in this faith, you will do well to give up recreations and pleasure; and to stay away from places that conflict with the ideas in this book. Don't read or listen to pessimistic or conflicting ideas. Spend most of your leisure time contemplating your vision, and in cultivating gratitude, and in reading this book. The riches you will receive will be in exact proportion to the definiteness of your vision, the fixity of your purpose, the steadiness of your faith, and the depth of your gratitude. The Science of Getting Rich may be a hundred years old but Wattles' ideas are as relevant today as they ever were. The science of getting rich is not about following a pre-defined formula for success - first step one, then step two, then step three, then retire on a beach with a margarita in your hand - but rather it is all about THE WAY YOU THINK AND ACT.
